I can't remember when we read it, but that story, and many other Poe stories, kick ass. It's the one time in school when they encourage us to read grotesque descriptions of death. it rocks!!

sounds like Catcher in the Rye, a American book in the view of a teenage boy with a good deal of swearing...
but wait... have there been any assasinations where the shooter is obessed with the book in Australia?

No, its about the summer just after they graduate and they downt know what they want to do. They love surfing but the main character has a foot problem and has to have an operation but wants to be able to surf afterwards.
The main plot in the book is that the main character takes his best friends' sister (basically his sister because they such good friends) then she gets drunk and goes off with another guy and gets killed in a car crash and she's only 15. And that is the first party her parents have allowed her to go to.
That link i gave you... i just realised you can only read the first chapter and i dont think your libraries will have it.

I finished A Feast for Crows my George R.R. Martin a few weeks ago. I've picked up Memoirs of a Geisha, but I haven't started reading it yet.
